About
Kyoto served as Japan's imperial capital and the residence of emperors from 794 to 1868, marking over a millennium as the center of Japanese culture and governance. Today, it remains one of Japan's ten largest cities.
Kyoto faced significant challenges, including destruction caused by wars and devastating fires. Yet, its profound historical and cultural significance spared it from further calamity during World War II. Kyoto was deliberately removed from the list of potential atomic bomb targets, preserving its timeless treasures.

Ichigo–Ichie
[
一期一会
]
Every moment, conversation, or event is a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence, even if it happens again in exactly the same way.
In this sense, Ichigo–Ichie is a gentle reminder to cherish every connection, as each interaction holds a special magic—an unrepeatable dance of time and circumstance.
