As part of its global innovation journey to transform beauty retail experiences, SK-II has launched a Smart Store powered by AI, facial recognition technology and skin scans. The Smart Store allows costumers to interact with multiple personalized and immersive experiences to help them get more familiar with the products and recommend beauty treatments. I was involved in the concept and design of the Skin Scan Station, that helps customers get an in-depth skin analysis and determine the age of their skin.
Seamless skin analysis.
Unlike other skin scans, which require direct contact with the skin, the Skin Scan Station performs its skin analysis just by asking customers to look at the camera.
The Five Dimensions.
The skin scan measures each customer’s skin firmness, spots, wrinkles, texture and radiance and checks how it compares to other customers with the same age to reveal how well their skin is doing.
Once the skin scan is completed, the customers will be able to see their skin age, a comprehensive analysis of their skin condition and recommendations based on their results.
Get skincare advice.
By tapping on each of the Five Dimensions, you’ll be able to see how well it is doing and the next steps to improve the current results.
“This is the most fantastic beauty pop-up. I have been to thousands of beauty brand pop-ups, but this is a very bold attempt and SK-II is really leading the beauty trend.”
